for us: the 50th edition of Survive News. We’ve been together for exactly 50

In English, so you can follow along, we have several editions on our blog.
We’ve done interviews, student participation, and more… in Portuguese and
English… we’re here to study a bit more.
Let’s get to today’s updates! I, Stryker, will be delivering the news today,
giving a break to teacher Mary, who has always been with you. She’ll be back
next week. I hope you enjoy the narrative she prepared for you.

On May 27, 2025, the U.S. and Russia were talking about the possibility of
World War III. Trump said that without him, many terrible things would already
have happened to Russia. He warned that Putin is “playing with fire,” causing
turmoil. Putin’s vice president, Dmitry Medvedev, acknowledged that World War
III would indeed be disastrous and hopes Trump knows that. Trump had promised
during his campaign to end the war in 24 hours — but where’s the ceasefire?
Trump also froze visa interviews for student and exchange visas (F and J
categories), affecting researchers and medical professionals. Today, over 1
million international students are enrolled in U.S. universities, generating

Over 10 million requests were not counted in INSS records. From the
beginning of the imbalance of the economy. Which would be the slowdown of
inflation in 2025. We received the news about the increase of the IOF. How is
that possible? Things are already far from normal or acceptable as they are.
And even without understanding it. We only know that this information scares US

The U.S. International Trade Court struck down Trump’s import tariffs but
kept tariffs on cars, steel, and aluminum. The United States Court of
International Trade ruled that Donald Trump's tariff hike, based on the
emergency economic powers law, was illegal and canceled the tariffs announced
on April 2, which are 10% on all products entering the United States. This also
includes those from Brazil and the so-called reciprocal tariffs imposed by the
government on specific countries, in addition to the tariffs that had been
announced in the first month of the government on products imported from
Mexico, Canada and China. The decision did not cancel the 25% tariffs on
automobiles. Auto parts, steel and aluminum, which are based on another law,
have had some decisions questioned by court judges since Trump took office.
This time, it was here at the Court, appointed by Donald Trump in his first
term, that voted unanimously to overturn the tariffs.

was 18 when her boyfriend, actor Rafael Miguel, and his parents, João Emília,
were murdered with 3 gunshots. Cupertino was a fugitive for almost 3 years.
Rafael became known after playing the boy who asked his mother for broccoli in
a TV commercial. He also appeared in soap operas on Globo and SBT. In the most

and controlling man who would have executed an entire family without
hesitation.

May 30, 2025
Last Friday night, Gross Domestic Product, the sum of all goods and services
produced by Brazil, grew 1.4% in the first quarter of the year and once again
agribusiness played a very important role for the Brazilian economy. It’s GDP
but you can call it PIB. The nickname it gets when it enters the accounts that
measure Brazil’s wealth.
Will the electricity bill get more expensive? In June, the National Electric
Energy Agency announced that it will trigger the red flag at level one
throughout the month. This means an additional charge of R$ 4.46 for every 100
kilowatt hours consumed. Aneel states that the measure is necessary due to the
expectation of a drop in the volume of rains, which reduces energy production
in hydroelectric plants and increases the need to activate thermoelectric
plants, which are more expensive.
Income tax declaration
Brazilians have until midnight today to submit their income tax declaration.
According to a bulletin released a few minutes ago, 42,396,000 taxpayers are
already up to date with the lion. The Federal Revenue expects to receive
46,000,000 declarations this year. While millions of Brazilians are still
rushing to send in their declarations, millions of other taxpayers already have
the refund in their pocket. The Federal Police carried out search and seizure
warrants against the mayor of Palmas.
Elon Musk and Donald Trump
This week, billionaire Elon Musk criticized the White House budget and
announced that he was leaving the government. Quickly… Donald Trump tried to
pass an image of unity. Few members of the Trump government had such an
honorable exit. The president gave Elon Musk a golden key and said the gift is
only given to very special people. The event in the Oval Office of the White
House was supposed to close the curtains, but Trump said he hopes he will
return. The journalists who were in the Oval Office of the White House also
asked questions about other subjects.
Regarding immigrants
A decision by the American Supreme Court represented a victory for Donald
Trump. The judges determined that the government can revoke authorization that
allows more than 500,000 immigrants to stay in the country temporarily. These
are people from Venezuela, Cuba, Haiti, and Nicaragua. They fled their
countries due to security issues and came legally to the United States as part
of a welcoming initiative by the Biden government. Now, many are at risk of
deportation. Trump classified the Supreme Court’s position as a great decision.
And the result of Paulo Cupertino’s trial
After 6 years since the crimes and 2 days of trial, Paulo Cupertino was
convicted for the murder of actor Rafael Miguel and his parents. Judge Antônio
Carlos Pontes de Souza is reading at this moment the sentence given by the
jury. 7 jurors, 4 men and 3 women. The penalty measurement, the crime was
aggravated because it happened in front of the daughter, Isabela, Rafael
Miguel’s girlfriend, and also because he fled the crime scene. This murder
happened in 2019. Paulo Cupertino was against Rafael Miguel’s relationship, and
when Isabela was dropped off at home by Rafael and his parents, he then
committed this murder. CONVICTED
The dog Teddy returns home
After this, 52 days of waiting, the service dog Teddy finally boarded for
Portugal. This trip, which will unite the Labrador dog and the girl Alice, had
already been postponed twice. Alice is 12 years old, is autistic, and does not
communicate by speech. She relies on Teddy’s help to avoid and overcome crises.
The airline TAP refused the first boarding attempt in April. Last Saturday, the
company wanted Teddy to travel in the cargo hold. The family refused, and TAP
canceled. After the repercussion of the case, the dog’s boarding was arranged
between the Ministry of Ports, Airports, Alice’s family, and the airline. A
happy ending for them, like a happy ending for us at Survive Course, who wish
everyone a blessed week full of achievements, and as teacher Mary says:
“You are what you say you are, you can do everything you say you
can do, and never forget: ‘you will never be the same in the name of Jesus.’”
Thank you for the support and backing you have given us, and for promoting
our podcast. Enjoy and make the most of the week.
So that’s it for today!
